Acute Dissection of the Ascending Aorta
Asymptomatic young man with acute chest pain and breathlessness has normal aortic root dimensions and a trileaflet aortic valve. No history of connective tissue disorder or family history of Marfan Syndrome. The 3D MPR above shows acute dissection of the aortic root sparing the valve annulus. The dissection flap with a large false lumen is seen in the dynamic images.
